Fighting educational inequality, one book at a time.
Only 41% of Indonesian adolescents graduate senior high school.
Economic struggles, limited geographical access, and an overall lack of educational resources contribute to high student dropout rates. The decisions of families to halt the schooling of their children not only hinder individual potential, but also dampen the countryβs broader efforts to reduce inequality and build a more inclusive future for all Indonesians.

What do we do?
We collect and donate secondhand books to low-income communities across the country.
We work with schools and orphanages involved in the Yayasan Panah Terang Nusantara network, a government-registered non-profit organization that supports over twenty child-centered national institutions. Our events primarily consist of community visits, during which we engage children in reading and writing activities and present teachers with their new storybooks.
At the moment, we are expanding our operations to prioritize deeper connections with our students while simultaneously aiming to foster wider partnerships with local communities.

Bookdrives.id works closely with Yayasan Panah Terang Nusantara (PTN), a non-profit organization officially recognized by the Indonesian government. PTN has a network of 18 schools and orphanages located across Indonesia, with which we work to coordinate events and donate storybooks. However, we also collaborate with other local child-centered institutions when they express interest.
